CATEGORY WISE ETHERNET CABLES

CAT 5

minimum speed: 100Mb/s (Megabits per second)

maximum extended length: 100meter

maximum bandwidth: 100MHz

CAT 5E ("E" means enhanced)

minimum speed: 1Gb/s (Gigabits per second)

maximum extended length: 100meter

maximum bandwidth: 100MHz

These types of cable are currently absolute and outdated now

CAT 6

Minimum speed: 10Gb/s (Gigabits per second)

Maximum extended length: 55meter

Maximum bandwidth: 250MHz

Nowadays CAT6 and CAT6A cables are more for him

As seen in the image above, in CAT 6 cable, the twisted core is separated from the plastic core and also has metallic shielding. Because of that, it gets more speed in CAT 6 as compared to CAT 5. some CAT 6 cables come with only a plastic core if you purchase CAT 6 cable plastic core with shielding. Its quality will be very good.

Due to metallic shielding, the cross-talk between the cables in it is the same but less. In order to minimize the cross talk, the CAT 7 cable given below has shielding over the individual core, but it will increase the diameter of the cable but give a lot of speed.

CAT 7

Minimum speed: 10Gb/s (Gigabits per second)

maximum extended length: 100meter

maximum bandwidth: 600MHz

here this type of cable comes with more bandwidth and high quality. but these are costly in price

As you move from CAT 5 to CAT 7 you will see his diameter increasing
