- For opening the registry editor press “Win+R”.
- Type “regedit” as below the picture.
- After successfully opening the registry editor. Locate the “File” tab in the top right corner. Click on the “File” tab and then press “Export”.
- In the “Export range” tab make sure that the selection is on “All” as per the picture. Now select the file destination path and gives a file name. press “Save”.
- Hoorah! your registry files backup is now created.
- In to above procedure, you take all the registry files backup. You can take particular registry files back also. check the below steps for individual file backups.
- In Registry editor, right-click on the file whichever you want to take backup and press “Export” as shown in the below picture. In this case, I am taking “HKEY_USERS” file backup
- Check the “Selected branch” tab. There should be the same name written which you want to back up. Now press “Save”.
- Now we have backup files ready for the emergency. You can easily recover the backup file using the “Import” option in the file tab.
